“Jim Jobe’s accomplished works are as finely structured as they are enigmatic, a careful balance of precise realism and pure abstraction, often playfully undercut with elements of incongruity.  A master of trompe l’oeil, the artist defies conventions of perception and illusionism in his works, filling prismatic, labyrinthine spaces with recurring motifs that emphasize ritual and ceremony and resonate with a uniquely poetic voice.  Much of Jobe’s imagery also suggest both direct and peripheral perception.”
